Sacred Veil Resources
Caring for Yourself During The Sacred Veil
This performance invites a wide range of emotional responses. For some, it may open soft or difficult places; for others, it may bring moments of beauty, awe, or peace. There is no right way to experience this work. Your emotional experience matters. Your response is uniquely yours and wholly valid—simply allow what comes.
If strong emotions arise, please care for yourself in whatever way you need. You are welcome to lean into the grounding tools and resources provided below, if they feel supportive.
Care Suggestions
These simple reminders can help if emotions feel heavy:
Tears are welcome
Reunite with a trusted person after the concert if you need grounding
Offer yourself kindness
Grounding Tools (Use Quietly Anytime)
4–7–8 Breath: Inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Repeat several times.
Name What You Feel: Silently acknowledge your emotion in a simple phrase -- (e..g “This is grief," “This is tenderness,” “This is love"). Labeling emotions can gently reduce their intensity.
Hand-to-Heart: Place a hand on your chest and breathe slowly. Silently repeat: “I am safe. I can feel this.”
Gentle Movement: If you need, roll your shoulders, unclench your jaw, or place both feet firmly on the ground. This helps
discharge emotional tension.
